Cruz Bay - A popular spot to start your vacation by anchoring around the corner at Caneel Bay and hitting the St. John nightlife. Not to be confused with the Manhattan nightlife; St. John's 2x4 block downtown can be a fun place to unwind and start the vacation. Also popular is St. John's Carnival on the 4th of July.

Leinster Bay - A great first anchorage; calm bay with cool breezes as well as great snorkeling at the small Waterlemon Cay.
